Kilt Measurement

Please use the guidelines below to ensure the best fit of your kilt.  Kilts are custom items and cannot be returned, so please measure accurately.  We require a 50% non-refundable deposit.  Expect 6-8 weeks for delivery of your custom-made kilt..

1.  WAIST:____ inches

Measure around at the navel, the widest area for men.

2.  HIPS:____ inches

Measure around at the widest part around the seat.

3.  LENGTH:____ inches

While kneeling, measure from the top of the hipbone to the floor.  For accuracy, we recommend you have someone measure for you.  Don’t look down to watch what is happening! The kilt maker will then add two inches to the measurement. The kilt will be approximately at the top of the knee with this measurement. If you currently have a kilt we suggest you use that length measurement, if appropriate.

4.  YOUR HEIGHT:_______ inches

5.  YOUR WEIGHT:_______ pounds

6.  TARTAN REQUIRED:__________________ (Click here to view over 500 tartans courtesy of the Lochcarron Tartan Viewer)

  • Pleated to the Sett, the pattern of the kilt will be repeated across the back.

  • Pleated to the Stripe , military style, each pleat across the back will be edged in a bold stripe.
